New photos sent our way from HBO for Game of Thrones’ fourth episode, airing May 5, reveal the stark (no pun intended) aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell.
The photos see Jon, Sansa, Arya, and Bran, accompanied by Daenerys, Tyrion, and the other remaining survivors, attending to their sizable number of dead, post battle. The funeral scenes show scenes of mass cremations which seems a prudent move, given how the dead have tended to rise up unexpectedly in these here parts.
With the Night King and his undead army now defeated, Daenerys has her sights set firmly on King’s Landing, and Queen Cersei. But is there enough of a force left to be reckoned with in the north? And will the precious but ultimately fragile union between the North and Targaryen forces manage to hold the line going forward?
Sunday’s episode will run for 1 hour and 18 minutes. Catch it, Sunday, May 5 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO.
