Green Lantern Animated Series Premieres on Cartoon Network

The new animated series featuring longtime favorite DC Comics superhero Green Lantern premiered on Cartoon Network Friday November 11, with a blockbuster two part premiere entitled Beware My Power. Starring the voice talents of Josh Keaton as the wisecracking test pilot Hal Jordan (the Green Lantern from Earth) and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kilowog, the promising animated pilot captured all the excitement and charm that last summer’s feature film lacked, and received largely positive reviews from critics and fans alike.

Grey DeLisle (Azula from the animated Avatar, The Last Airbender) was particularly entertaining as the AI (dubbed Aya by Hal)┬áin the stylish new spacecraft Interceptor, and Jonathan Adams’ performance lent surprising depth to what might have been a painfully hokey role as the not-so-subtly-named supervillain Atrocitus in this very slick new adaptation of the classic Green Lantern story.
