NBC’s The Blacklist is off to a strong start. The spy drama delivered 12.6 million viewers and a 3.8 rating among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. last night, outshining CBS’ Hostages.
Next week’s episode “The Freelancer” will see Isabella Rossellini guesting as Floriana Campo, the potential next victim of an assassin named the Freelancer. Red (James Spader) and Liz (Megan Boone) team up in an undercover assignment to stop the next assassination and prevent an impending catastrophe.
Speaking to Press recently, Executive Producer John Eisendrath teased Rossellini’s guest role, saying “Isabella Rossellini did a role on the show where she played someone who was perceived to be a really admirable, outstanding, great humanitarian. Maybe she turns out that way and maybe she doesn’t.”
Eisendrath went on to say “All I will say is that she did an amazing job. One thing that I was most impressed with was that sometimes you ask all the actors, even the guest actors, to do things that really test their comfort level. We did that with her and she did an amazing job, just throwing herself into certain scenes that were about as far away from the days of her modelling career and that graceful, elegant persona as one could possibly get. She did it with great enthusiasm.”
Catch “The Freelancer” Monday September 30 (10:01PM – 11:00PM) on NBC.
