James Spader & Megan Boone on THE BLACKLIST Season 4

Like a parent telling a child they’re “not angry, just disappointed” the following interview sees James Spader outline Raymond Reddington’s “depth of disappointment” over his stunning betrayal last season on NBC’s The Blacklist.
The short interview clip, sent our way from NBC, sees Spader assess Red’s losses and his state of mind heading into the Season 4 premiere on Thursday.
In case you need a refresher, Liz (Megan Boone) faked her own death to be free of Red and go live with husband Tom in Cuba, all with a little help from Mr Kaplan, one of Red’s oldest and most trusted advisors.
Liz’s death, and its subsequent fake-out, were two of the most outrageous events The Blacklist has pulled off over its four year run, splitting the fanbase as to whether Liz would return or remain dead. (In reality, Liz’s death and return were scripted to allow for timeout following Boone’s pregnancy earlier this year.)
The second clip sees Boone directly addressing her character’s death, and fan reaction to her return. “People went a little nutty,” she laughs before previewing what’s to come this season. Hint: It involves uncovering the “true connection” between our favorite characters.
Both interview excerpts are an excellent refresher on all things Blacklist (with the added benefit of being largely unspoilery), and area must for any fan heading into season 4 this week.
