The third season of Jessica Jones will drop on June 14, according to Netflix.
Teasing the intriguing logline “Jessica Jones is a Fraud” — now also mirrored in the show’s official Twitter handle — this third and final season promises to dip deeper into Jones’ psyche as she takes on a new and disturbing case involving a cunning new foe.
A recent press release for the upcoming 13 episode season teases “When Jessica crosses paths with a highly intelligent psychopath she and Trish must repair their fractured relationship and team up to take him down. But a devastating loss reveals their conflicting ideas of heroism and sets them on a collision course that will forever change them both.”
A series of new tweets from the show’s account, advertising the return date, read, among other things “Everything changes, and nothing really changes. People die, new people are born, and we exist in between.” and “Sometimes not even heroes can save themselves.”
Season 2 launched globally on Netflix on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2018. While most of Netflix’s remaining Marvel properties — Luke Cage, The Punisher, Daredevil and Iron Fist — succumbed to cancelation, Netflix announced that Jessica Jones would return for a third season later this year.
The series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. The cast also features Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth and Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse.
Jessica Jones is executive produced by showrunner Melissa Rosenberg along with Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory, and produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
