Lou Diamond Phillips Set For Meaty Recurring Role on NBC’s BLINDSPOT

NBC’s runaway success story Blindspot is filling out its guest roster for the season ahead, and if you were wondering if that really was a photo of Lou Diamond Phillips you saw on Monday night’s episode, you were right.

Phillips (Longmire, The 33) will recur as the aforementioned Saúl Guerrero, described as a feared criminal and pivotal character from Bethany Mayfair’s (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) past.

Going forward, Guerrero is set to send shock waves through the FBI, and will “loom large” as the season progresses.

Blindspot centers on Jane Doe/Taylor (Jamie Alexander), an amnesiac whose body contains clues to a series of interconnected threats and conspiracies via a series of complex tattoos.

Working alongside childhood friend turned FBI agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) Jane hopes that solving the clues and the cases behind them will help her restore her missing memories.

Blindspot initially premiered to a 3.1 rating in the key 18-49 demographic and 10.6 million overall viewers. DVR stats later reflected a rise to an impressive 4.5 in the demo and 15.2 million viewers overall. Week 2 saw an audience retention figure of 99%.

The series continues Mondays on NBC.
