When we last checked in on our favorite horned (or should that read horny?) little devil, Lucifer was just about to come clean to Chloe about his true identity.
However before he could spill the beans he was hit over the head, kidnapped, and driven deep into the desert, where he awoke two days later with no memory of his ordeal, and to the discovery that he had somehow regrown his wings.
Despite recent details of episode shuffling, fans will be pleased to learn the season 3 premiere will pick up on all of these points when the show returns on Oct. 2. Not only that but we'll get a new character too in the form of Tom Welling's no-nonsense Lieutenant Marcus Pierce, who sets hearts aflutter in the precinct.
All this and a new big bad too?
As you may have guessed, we've seen the premiere a little early, thanks to our friends at FOX, and have a number of teasers to share with you. As always, we avoid outright spoilers and plot point reveals that would inevitably ruin your enjoyment of the show. However, we suggest a modicum of caution nevertheless. This is the internet after all, and just who are these ScreenSpy people anyway?
Mr Potato Head
Season 2 wrapped up the story of Charlotte Richards pretty effectively, but it left many character threads dangling. What about Dan and Charlotte’s relationship? How will Amenadiel feel when he learns he didn’t get to say goodbye to Mom? What will Chloe think about Lucifer’s latest decision to bail (again) just as things were becoming comfortable between them? But perhaps the biggest unanswered question surrounds the relationship of Lucifer and long suffering Dr. Linda Martin, who was seriously injured when we last saw her in season two’s finale.
The premiere will see Lucifer and Linda taking a moment to acknowledge that she almost died as a direct result of Lucifer’s family drama. Linda is quick to point out the craziness of her situation, and Lucifer is equally quick with an offer of atonement — involving a ‘wellness regime’ and a personal assistant named Benjamin.
“I just want to take care of you,” Lucifer tells a skeptical Linda. “Is that so hard to believe?”
Well yes it is, actually. Lucifer has a whole other reason for pampering Dr. Linda, and it has to do with his wings — or rather his desire for someone with a medical background to help him cut them off.
