Christmas came a little early to the ScreenSpy offices this week in the form of a gift of the first three episodes of NBC Grimm’s sixth season — the third directed by series star David Giuntoli himself.
In an accompanying letter, Grimm Executive Producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf told us what to expect. not just from our advance sneak peek, but over the season ahead too.
“Our final 13 episodes will pick up right where we left off (like you’d expect any different!) and continue the rivalry that has fueled Grimm since the beginning – Nick Burkhardt vs. Capt. Sean Renard,” the duo wrote.
“All of our characters will be fighting for what they believe in and deal with challenges in their own unique ways. The bond between Nick and Adalind will be tested as Eve deals with the side effects of the mysterious stick. The most complicated family dynamic continues to escalate as Adalind navigates parenting with Nick and Capt. Renard. Monroe and Rosalee think about their future in Portland now that their family will be growing. Wu will continue to battle his inner Wesen as he joins Hank to battle the Captain’s rising power. There is so much that will be packed into this season!
We are especially proud of our star David Giuntoli, who has taken the leap behind the camera to direct our third episode. The final result is PHENOMENAL and one of our most funny and entertaining episodes to date.”
Grimm officially returns to our screens on our Friday, January 6 (8-9 p.m. ET/PT) on NBC.
