The docs are doing all they can to keep the heat and lights on at New Amsterdam during an intense snow storm in Tuesday’s episode “King of Swords.”
The episode will see Dr Max (Ryan Eggold) reminding staff that while half of all the private hospitals in the city may have shut their doors when the storm hit, public hospitals “don’t get snow days.”
However, Max quickly realises that although their doors may be officially open, getting through them may be more difficult than expected for some patients, as multiple car crashes and hemmed in snowplows have prevented ambulance access for those who need it most.
“If people can’t get to this hospital, then we need to bring this hospital to them,” Max tells a stunned Dr. Sharpe (Freema Agyeman), hatching what will no doubt be a reckless but brave plan to save lives and stun his colleagues. *dreamy sigh*
Max isn’t the only one taking risks in the freezing weather this week. When Dr. Kapoor (Anupam Kher) learns one his patients isn’t likely to make it through the night he takes it upon himself to go out into the storm to locate and inform her husband.
But wait? Can’t he just call him on the phone?
Apparently not. The couple had a dust up, and now he’s refusing to take any calls from his wife’s phone.
