San Diego Comic Con continues this weekend, with some of the most hotly anticipated trailers vying for attention on Friday.
Among those sneak peeks were a “weeks ahead” look at HBO’s Game of Thrones, which shows the battle for the 7 Kingdoms falling to three contenders — the Lannisters, The Starks and, of course the Mad King’s daughter Daenerys and her dragons.
Will Melisandre be able to forge and alliance of fire and (Jon) Snow before the Lannisters make their move? And what about the Night King?
Game of Thrones continues Sundays on AMC.
Meanwhile, a new trailer for Marvel’s Defenders was shown to fans and press (ScreenSpy was there) in Hall H yesterday. Although it’s been a full year since the announcement that Matt Murdoch, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Danny Rand would team up against a new villain (played with panache by the iconic Sigourney Weaver), yesterday’s panel offered a first real look at the team dynamics. In short? We liked what we saw.
Marvel’s Defenders kicks off (literally) on Netflix on August 18 2017.
A new clip for HBO’s Westworld season 2 was also revealed to fans in Hall H on Saturday. The series From executive producers, J.J. Abrams, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, returns in 2018. Catch a gloriously savage Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and faithful Teddy (James Marsden) on a killing spree below.
Last, but by no means least, we saw the latest trailer for The Walking Dead’s eighth season. According to Rick, his people have already won. But does Negan have one last trick up his sleeve? We don’t think we’ve ever seen a more action-packed teaser for the show yet. (We’ve got a region free version of the trailer below too.)
The Walking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday, October 22 2017.
