Rounding out our recent series of red carpet interviews from Once Upon a Time’s 100th episode celebration event in Vancouver is series star Lana Parrilla.
Regina Mills (Parrrilla) will find herself facing new and unforeseen challenges when the sweeping fantasy drama returns from hiatus this Sunday, placing our heroes in the Underworld and facing down Hades (guest star Greg Germann) himself.
Accompanied by Emma, Mr Gold, the Charmings, Robin Hood, and Henry, Regina will learn that in the Underworld not every fight takes place on a battlefield, and that words — even those of a loved one — can be more powerful than weapons.
In the following video interview, Parrilla drops the first hints at Regina’s new mission down under, and for once it’s not about defeating new enemies with might or magic.
Discussing those Underworlders with “unfinished business” who seek to place obstacles in the way of our Heroes’ search for Hook, Parrilla reveals “we, as heroes, are here to help them.”
The revelation may not come as so much of a surprise to fans aware that the Spring premiere will see Regina painfully reunited with two faces from her past.

Once Upon a Time returns Sunday March 6 with “Souls of the Departed” at 8/7c on ABC.
