A brand new trailer for Prison Break event series (that’s a limited run reboot to you and me) dropped over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con.
The new trailer gave fans a first look at what to expect from the new series when it bows in Spring 2017 during Fox’s midseason primetime schedule.
Series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell reprise their roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows. Additionally, Sarah Wayne Callies, Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Paul Adelstein will also make a return.
The original producing team, including series creator Paul T. Scheuring (“Zero Hour”), Neal Moritz (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise), Marty Adelstein (“Aquarius,” “Last Man Standing”) and Dawn Olmstead (“The Whispers,” “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”) will return to executive-produce the new series, with Scheuring serving as showrunner/writer.
The original series centered on a young man (Miller) determined to prove his convicted brother’s (Purcell) innocence and save him from death row by hatching an elaborate plan to escape from prison.
A breakout success in its premiere season, garnering Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Television Series – Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Miller), as well as winning the People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama, Prison Break ran for four seasons, ending its run in May 2009.
