The Blacklist train stops for no one, not even Red Reddington, apparently.
This latest sneak peek clip from Friday’s “Alter Ego” reveals that Red (James Spader) has temporarily dipped out of his own legal proceedings just so he can fill Liz (Megan Boone) in on the latest Blacklister.
While Liz is aghast (or is she?), and deeply concerned (or is she?) that Red’s bold actions may make him enemies in court, Red is more concerned about enemies closer to home.
Never one to offer a Blacklister to Harold and the gang without receiving some personal gain in return, this week’s episode will see Red setting Liz and the Task Force on the case of a man whose recent inheritance seems a little too good to be true.
However when Red outlines how specific details of the case, including the recent death of Harris Van Ness (a billionaire who died in a fire), are connected to him, Liz is reluctant to believe him, and suggests the links are “accidental.”
“There are no accidents around me,” Red reminds her. “Not unless they’re on purpose.”
Meanwhile, as Red fights two fronts — both in court, and behind bars in prison — his struggle to uphold the validity of his immunity agreement becomes even more crucial.
The “Alter Ego” episode of The Blacklist airs Friday, February 1(09:00PM – 10:00PM) on NBC.
Ken Leung, Becky Ann Baker and Terrence Mann guest star.
