It’s not the first time that Red (James Spader) and Liz (Megan Boone) have found themselves on opposite ends of a Blacklist case, each chasing a truth that Liz wants exposed, and Red wants kept under wraps.
Their latest bone of contention is one General Shiro, a person who may be able to shed light on who Red was before he assumed the identity of Raymond Reddington.
It’s a question that has frustrated and intrigued fans in equal measure ever since we learned that the bones in the suitcase/duffle bag belonged to Reddington himself, meaning the man who claims to be Liz’s father is in fact someone entirely other.
Friday’s episode will see Red, sidelined from Liz’s deep investigation into his past by his trial, working with Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) to enlist Glenn’s (guest star Clark Middleton) help in stacking the jury to his advantage for his upcoming trial.
Meanwhile, in what’s bound to be a squeamish episode for those with a bug aversion, the Task Force will set out to investigate a series of mysterious deaths resulting from weaponized insects.
Weaponized insects, guys.
We’ve got a sneak peek clip ahead of Friday’s action to share with you below. Watch as Liz probes Red to tell her how this latest case will come to benefit him personally, and Red deflects as only Red can.
The “General Shiro” episode of The Blacklist airs Friday, February 15 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) on NBC.
