The Blacklist is taking a deep dive into Harold (Harry Lennix) and Red’s (James Spader) shared past in Friday’s next episode.
“Kuwait” will see Harold Cooper’s “moral compass” tested when Daniel Hutton, an officer with ties to Reddington, and with whom Harold once served with as a young man, is discovered after he escapes from a Prisoner of War camp, many years after he was presumed to be dead.
As Harold and Red jet off to investigate, both men consider the cost of keeping each other’s secrets from the past, especially when Red cautions Harold against revealing his true identity as Ilya Koslov to Main Justice, an act that would surely cause the Task Force to be shut down, effective immediately. (It’s as if they don’t care we want a season 8!).
“I must admit though, it’s ironic us jetting over there to protect your secrets and you refusing to protect mine,” Red observes.
Let’s just hope that, for once, Harold sees the advantage in working in the grey zone.
The “Kuwait” episode of The Blacklist airs Friday, October 25 (8-9 p.m. ET) on NBC.
