It’s been an emotional rollercoaster ride for fans of NBC’s time travel drama Timeless.
The show rounded out its freshman season almost a year ago with an intriguing cliffhanger and multiple dangling plot lines (Flynn’s associate Emma escaped in the Mothership, Flynn finally got the names of those responsible for the deaths of his family, only to be promptly arrested, Jiya began to experience strange and dangerous seizures, and Lucy discovered her mother was a prominent Rittenhouse member) only to be cancelled shortly thereafter.
However, a combination of fan support and clever number crunching brought the series back to life with the announcement that a second season of 10 episodes was officially on the cards. At the time, speculation suggested the episodes would air over summer 2018. However, NBC today announced an earlier than expected season 2 return for March 11 2018.

Season 2’s premiere episode is titled “The War to End All Wars,” and as the title suggests, will find our trio of time travellers hitting up World War I.
The episode will also formally introduce a new recurring character — Nicholas Keynes (Michael Rady), a World War I soldier who finds himself badly injured in battle, only to be rescued by by villains Emma and Lucy’s mom Carol, who want him very much alive.
Though he seems helpless at first, Keynes is described as much more formidable than he appears.
Set your calendars, clocks and time machines for March 11 at 10/9c on NBC.
