Breaking news! TNT has renewed Falling Skies for a fourth season.
The scifi drama, starring Noah Wyle and currently airing its third season on Sunday nights at 10 pm, is produced by DreamWorks Television and executive produced by Steven Spielberg.
The show is averaging 5.8 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery and ranks as basic cable’s #1 scripted series with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the summer-to-date.
TNT plans are to launch a new 10-episode fourth season in summer 2014.
Falling Skies follows the fortunes of a group of survivors in a post-apocalyptic Earth where Alien invaders have all but crushed humanity, save for small pockets of resistance. The current season has upped the ante in terms of storytelling by introducing a (possibly) benevolent alien ally in the Vohm, whose superior firepower may help turn the tide against the Skitters, Mechs and overlords.
The series also stars Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Seychelle Gabriel, Mpho Koaho, Colin Cunningham and Sarah Carter.
Bring on those Skitter hoards!
