Zachary Quinto’s production company Before The Door Pictures has received financing for a new horror movie The Banshee Chapter.
The movie, set to begin shooting in New Mexico later this month, centers on a young female journalist who must follow a trail of a missing friend who has been experimenting with mind-altering chemicals developed in secret drug tests.
“We are excited to branch out in our storytelling,” Quinto said of the project. “We’ve produced a movie about the financial crash and an innovative, grounded romantic comedy. ‘The Banshe Chapter’ is an opportunity for us to tackle another film with its roots in reality, but through the lens of horror.”
According to Before the Door, the movie’s theme is based on real uncovered test subject testimony and documentation on secret trials run by the CIA.
Stephanie Riggs and Before the Door’s Corey Moosa are set to produce the feature, with Zachary Quinto, Arnold-Beutel, Neal Dodson and Sean Akers as executive producers.
The Banshee Chapter was written and will be directed by Blair Erickson.
