Angelina Jolie Eats Creepy Crawlies With Her Children In Cambodia

Angelina Jolie is popular for her sophisticated beauty. Many people are jealous of her pouty lips and strong jaws. She’s also popular for having a huge heart of a mother. Angelina is indeed beautiful inside and out without even trying. But recently, the actress showed her bold and fearless side by snacking on spiders, scorpions and other creepy crawlies in Cambodia.

Angelina Jolie tries unusual delicacies in Cambodia

Earlier on Feb. 18, Angelina Jolie blends in with Cambodian culture by cooking and eating bugs. The Hollywood actress flew to the Asian country to promote her new film, “FirstThey Killed My Father.” Along with her promotion, Angelina also brought her six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Angelina Jolie showed how local cuisines in Cambodia are prepared. On a video that was taken by BBC News, the actress was seen showing how these bugs were actually prepped before eaten.

Angelina first removes the fangs from a tarantula before she heats it up in the pan. “I think it’s always been a part of the diet, the bugs, but then I think there is a truth to the survival during the war, of course,” the actress said in the video. “When people were being starved, they were able to survive on things like this, and they did,” she added.

After defanging and sauteing the Tarantula, Angelina dished them out and placed them onto the platters to pass the spiders around. The actress also asked Shiloh to have some and naturally she had no choice but to try it.

Angelina also asked her other kids what the unusual delicacies tasted like. According to Knox, the bugs tasted like dry chips. Angelina revealed that she first tried to eat bugs on a previous trip she had in Cambodia.

In March 2002, the actress went to Cambodia where she adopted her oldest son, Maddox, from an orphanage in Battambang. The actress likened Cambodia as a ‘second home’ and said that Maddox was happy to be back home.
