Arrow 'Crisis On Earth-X' Part 2 Recap: Returning Characters and Landing on Earth-X [SPOILERS]

There are 52 versions of Earth in the DC TV universe. “Arrow” continues the “Crisis on Earth-X Part 2” crossover by introducing the 53rd earth called Earth-X, where the Nazis won World War 2 and succeeded in World Domination. Green Arrow, Supergirl, and The Flash team up to face their Earth-X doppelgangers. In the midst of the Nazi situation, tensions are high between the superheroes and their own personal issues. They have to find a way to focus on saving their version of Earth from the Earth-X Nazis.

‘Arrow’ Meets a Ghost

‘Arrow’ picks up with a twist, where Prometheus-X identity is revealed to be the evil doppelganger of Tommy Merlyn. Oliver (Stephen Amell) couldn’t fathom the idea of his best friend being a villain and lets his emotions get ahead of him. Oliver wants a second chance with Tommy and maybe reaching out to his heart to get information out of him. Unfortunately, Earth-X Tommy is not the best friend he once knew. Earth-X Tommy explains to Oliver that he was born into the Reich. The Fuhrer would kill his parents if he betrayed the Father Land. He goes on to laugh at Oliver’s tears and promises that the Earth-X Nazis will kill all of Earth-Prime’s heroes. He then bites down on a cyanide capsule, committing suicide.

Just like his Earth-prime counterpart, Dark Arrow feels remorse when he found out Earth-X Tommy has died. In their Central City meeting point, Overgirl (Melissa Benoist), Dark Arrow, and Dark Flash (Tom Cavanagh) rally to plan a new strategy. Angered by losing Prometheus-X, Dark Arrow orders Dark Flash to get to work on finding the prism they’re after.
Meanwhile, in STAR labs, Wells explains to the others about Earth-X. Horrified by the information, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) called Curtis and asks for him to research on what he can on the Nazis. Oliver walks in and talks to Felicity about their stance on marriage. The two get into an argument and she asks Oliver to respect her decision. Stein (Victor Garber) and Jax (Franz Drameh) also try to address their current spat as well. Jax tells Stein he isn’t upset about losing his powers, but he’s more upset about losing the connection they both had since Stein was like a father that Jax never had. As the drama of each character continues,  an alarm starts going off and Iris (Candice Patton) sees that the Earth-X villains have broken into Dayton Opticals.

Fighting off Each Other

Green Arrow, Supergirl, and the Flash (Grant Gustin) are face to face with their evil doppelgangers. Barry is shocked to see Thawne again. It also shocks Kara to find out her doppelganger is married to Oliver. At least, we know in one version of Earth he got married. Barry and Dark Flash speed around and start fighting. While Oliver shoots kryptonite arrow at Overgirl, Dark Arrow tells Thawne to run off with the Prism while he and Overgirl take care of things. Overgirl uses laser vision to cut apart the beams from a nearby skyscraper under construction. Kara holds up the skyscraper while Barry and Oliver work at stabilizing the rest of it. This allows their evil doppelgangers to escape.

Felicity and Wells tell the rest of the team that the prism stolen can be used to make a powerful neutron bomb. Barry walks in with Oliver’s bloody kryptonite arrow hoping they can find a way of tracking Overgirl. Felicity, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), and Wells team up to track Overgirl. It took a while but they got the location of the Earth-X doppelgangers and their Nazi army. The heroes suited up again to fight off their evil counterparts and Nazis. Serving as the comedian for the crossover, Mick (Dominic Purcell) was left behind while making a sandwich. He probably stayed behind on purpose to see Caitlin become Killer-Frost again.

Earth-X and Nazi Victory

The other heroes are fighting off Nazi henchmen in an abandoned warehouse. Barry and Kara work on taking down their counterparts. Wells bumps into Dark Arrow in the STAR labs basement, and he starts to run off to warn the others.  Mick tells Iris and Felicity to hide while he and Caitlin take on Dark Arrow. Mick approaches Dark Arrow and starts firing his heat gun at him.  He’s able to distract Dark Arrow enough for Caitlin to sneak up behind him and freeze him. He was able to break free from Killer-Frost up until Team Arrow, Curtis, Dinah, and Rene show up—but they were also knocked out by Dark Arrow. Felicity and Iris witness the Nazis putting the knocked out members of Team Arrow into the STAR Labs holding cells.

Back at the Warehouse, our heroes wake up to find themselves chained and wearing shock collars. Here we learn the endgame of the Earth-X villains. Overgirl and Thawne try to intimidate the superheroes until Overgirl feels a surge of pain. Her husband, Dark Arrow, walks in and tells her to be strong. Dark Arrow tells the Earth-prime heroes that Overgirl needs a heart transplant and Kara is the only person capable of donating it. The prism they’ve stolen will be used to replicate the red sun to weaken Kara and take her heart out. The Earth-X villains knock the heroes unconscious and take them to their version of earth. Oliver, Barry, Sara, Stein, Jax, Kara, and Alex wake up in an Earth-X concentration camp.
It’s a small victory for the Earth-X villains.
The “Crisis on Earth-X” Arrowverse crossover event continues tomorrow with “The Flash” at 8/9c followed by “Legends of Tomorrow” at 9/10c on The CW.
