‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season 5, Episode 4 ‘HalloVeen’ Recap: Jake Proposes to Amy (Finally!) [SPOILERS]

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” has done it again. Just when you think you know what’s going on, well, you don’t. In Season 5, Episode 4, “HalloVeen,” Jake decides to use the annual Halloween heist to surprise Amy with a marriage proposal (yay!) When Amy starts bragging at how much she knows Jake, she gets the shock of her life when she reads the fresh inscription on the cummerbund saying, “Will you marry me?”

Jake Proposes to Amy—and it is Unforgettably Adorable

Let’s just let Jake and Amy show everyone how a marriage proposal ought to be done, okay?
When Amy sees Jake on his knee, she gets so much feels settles with saying, “I’m so confused. I don’t know what’s happening right right now. OMG I’m shaking. I’m definitely going to cry. Wait, is this really happening? Is this part of the heist? If this is part of the heist, I am dumping you so hard!”

Naturally, Jake plays it cool and reassures Amy that everything he is doing is for real, telling her, “This is not part of the heist…Ayms, I love you, I love how smart you are. I love how beautiful you are. I love your face and I love your butt… I love how much you pretend to like Die Hard. You’re kind and funny and you’re the best person I know. And, the best detective. Amy Santiago, will you marry me? “Jake Peralta, I will marry you,” Amy answers happily.
Right after Amy said yes, Detective Charles Boyle storms in and sees his best friends all goo-goo-eyed. So he manages to ask, “Did you just?” (Jake nods) “And did you just?” “MmHmm,” Amy says nodding. Charles is just so happy, then couldn’t say anything anymore. In the end Charles passes out. Of course, the classic Brooklyn 99 humor wins again!

Nothing can top the Traditional Brooklyn Nine-Nine Holloween Heist antics

The heist’s most hilarious highlights would be a group of unknown people dressed like the maidens in “The Handmaid’s Tale.” It heightens the strength of feminism and although dark, it is comical. In the heist, everyone at Nine-Nine knows each other full well just the way Captain Holt knows, without a doubt, that Terry hid the cummerbund in the heaviest file case. Jake, on the other hand, knows Captain Holt that well by sending his dog to fetch the cummerbund. The jokes and laughs may get out of hand but that is what the crew does best. They can make the silly things sentimental. The night’s episode was just that, a celebration of how much everyone means to each other.
