'Dynasty' Season 1, Episode 20: 'Use Or Be Used' Recap: 'Tensions Rising' [SPOILERS]

Something is cooking in the Carrington Estate. Liam Ridley (Adam Huber) prepares dinner for his fake wife Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies). But Alexis Carrington (Nicollette Sheridan) acts like a mother. In The CW’s “Dynasty” Season 1, Episode 20 titled “Use Or Be Used,” the Carringtons are in for a taste of their own medicine.

It Takes One To Know One

Liam and Fallon’s contract expires soon. But Liam is not all about fake marriages. Instead, he develops a love interest in Fallon. Although Fallon is still in love with Culhane, she indulges Liam with his request for dinner. But Fallon is not all about eating dinner. Instead, she prepares for the feast and makes sure that Liam falls for her.

Little did Fallon know that Liam is a great cook. He single-handedly whipped up a six-course meal and feeds Fallon. But news comes to Fallon at the wrong timing. She finds out that Michael Culhane’s (Robert Christopher Riley) dad is in a crucial health situation. She fires Culhane a series of text messages and gets anxious about the whole thing.

With that in mind, Fallon loses her focus on Liam. His food goes to waste as Fallon leaves dinner at an earlier phase. Not to mention the fact that Alexis scared Fallon that he might aim to poison her through the meal. Fallon leaves the estate with Alexis to the hospital where Culhane’s dad is confined. Liam invites Joseph Anders (Alan Dale) to have dinner with him. Anders approves of Liam’s cooking.

Covering Up Dirt

Meanwhile, in the Carrington-Atlantic, Cristal Flores (Nathalie Kelly) and Blake Carrington (Grant Show) tries to resolve what caused Culhane’s dad to develop his sickness. In 2013, Cristal started working for the Carrington-Atlantic as their Public Relations Analyst. Within that year, she covered up an incident involving the company and where Culhane’s family lived. The mishap caused sickness on the people living in the area.

Since they are business people, the company decided to ask Cristal to cover up the truth. Years later, the symptoms of the chemical spill on the area developed into sickness. One of the affected individuals is Culhane’s dad. Because Cristal saw Culhane’s dad’s condition, she became guilty of what she did in the past.

This pushes her to admit to the press what she did. They hired a lawyer to guide them in exposing the company’s ordeal without damaging their assets. But Blake is a businessman. He thinks like one and acts like one. This makes him silence Cristal even if they agreed to own up to the company’s faults. Blake orders his men to shred all Cristal’s files of the event so that she can’t expose the company. By the looks of it, Blake has Cristal in his hands.

Dynasty Season 1, Episode 20: Use Or Be Used

Alexis begins to become a mother for Fallon. She tried to warn Fallon about Liam becoming a con artist like her. Fallon falls for it and hates Liam for lying. With their contract ending, Liam leaves the Carringtons “empty-handed.” Or at least that’s what Alexis thinks.

Although Alexis confirmed that Liam is not the person who he says he is, Liam comes forward to her. He gives the annulment papers for filing. But not only that. He gives the manuscript of the book that Alexis thinks he writes off of marrying Fallon. But as it turns out, it is a book about how delusional Liam’s family is. Liam belongs to a wealthy family that’s soon to unfold in the story.

After Liam leaves in a sports car that he owns, Alexis burns the manuscript and never hands it out to Fallon. Alexis approaches Jeff Colby (Sam Adegoke) who is now a drunkard and says they have a lot to do. Now, is it to use or be used?

“Dynasty” continues next Friday, April 27th, with “A Line From The Past” at 8/9c on The CW.
