Kylie Jenner's Cosmetics: The Next Multi-Million Dollar Industry?

Clothing line after clothing line, mobile apps, to books and novels, the Kardashians sure have a knack at making money! In fact, the business gene is quite strong as it seems every Kardashian owns a little money-making industry. And the latest to enter the field is none other than Kylie Jenner and her Kylie Cosmetics– which is now gearing toward a billion-dollar success in a few years.

Everyone was pretty curious about how Kylie’s collections were going since it always seemed to be sold out. Although Kris Jenner has revealed in a report by WWD, the impressive financial record the Kylie Cosmetics had been making since its release in November 2015.

Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics earns $420m since its release

Starting from only three shades of the Kylie Lip Kits, the website kyliecosmetics.com has received impressive sales. February of 2016 came in and it immediately included three new shades—a special for Valentine’s season. And for these three shades, it quickly got the attention of a massive number of customers! Not to mention, since its official launch 18 months ago, it has earned $420 million dollars in retail sales.

Kylie even discloses that on the first day of launch, she was a little reluctant that she’d get an instant sale. Surprise, surprise! Because as soon as she refreshes the website, the products were already sold out! Kylie must’ve had quite impressive and big-budgeted promotional materials for such a successful launching. But admittedly, Kylie simply uses her social media accounts such as her Snapchat, to inform her potential customers.

Now, Kylie Cosmetics produces 300,000 units each product. Not bad! Kudos to Kris Jenner too, for teaching Kylie a thing or two about handling business wisely. In a few more years, we might just see Kylie’s sparkly name next to hotshots like L’Oreal and Mary Kay.
