Legends of Tomorrow 'Crisis On Earth X' Part 4 Finale Recap: A Battle, a Loss, and a Wedding [SPOILERS]

“Legends of Tomorrow” concludes this year’s DC superhero crossover. Our heroes are trying to take down the Nazis even when Stein is holding on to his last breath. Victor Garber always planned on leaving “Legends of Tomorrow,” but he does it with a tearful goodbye. But before we goodbye to Stein, he and along with our other heroes need to go through the breach back to Earth-1. It’s a wild and emotional ride for “Crisis on Earth X” part 4.

Ready to Save Earth-1

Barry (Grant Gustin) and Ray (Russell Tovey) were able to stop Red Tornado before he destroys the facility. Luckily, Barry’s lightning bold and The Ray’s powers fried the Red Tornado. Back at the facility, Stein crawled back towards the power switch and had enough energy to flip it, but was shot again in the process. To rescue his friend, Jax and Stein merged back into Firestorm. After battling Nazis, our hero goes through the breach back to Earth-1.

While Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) is starting the procedure, he was having a hard time putting a knife through Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) chest. It’s not a change of heart situation for Thawne. He was struggling to get it through because of The Atom (Brandon Routh). He grows to normal size and knocks out Thawne, who’s trying to stop the procedure. The Legends know how to pull through because Steel frees everyone trapped in the holding cells. Amaya and Zari also knock out the remaining Nazi guards. Team Arrow and the Legends, once released, were stopped by Metallo. They combine their powers to defeat Metallo.
Kara, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), and Ray are approached by the Dark Arrow. Luckily, our heroes were able to make it back to Earth-1 just in time too. Dark Arrow has his arrow ready to shoot but was distracted by Oliver holding Overgirl hostage. Before he could make a decision Thawne speeds in rescuing Overgirl from Oliver.

‘Legends of Tomorrow’ loses a Legend

The fourth part of “Crisis on Earth-X,” is an emotional one for the crossover. Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein’s (Victor Garber) are separated but both of them are in great pain. Jax also serves as the life support for Stein. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) reassures Jax that hey will do whatever they can to save Stein. But her false promise was only enough to calm Jax because he can only support Stein for long before they both die. As soon as Caitlin leaves, Stein wakes up. He tries to convince Jax to let him take Cisco’s serum which can save Jax but will kill Stein in the process. Jax refuses the offer telling Stein that without him, he has nobody else.  He only asks Jax to tell his wife and daughter he loved them and that Jax was like the son he was proud to meet.Victor Garber in Legends of Tomorrow (2016)
After begging, Jax hands Stein the serum. Jax stayed by Stein’s side until he passed away due to his injuries. Sara walks in to find Jax standing beside Stein’s lifeless body. Word of his death quickly spreads through the ship. Many of the heroes grieve the loss while Jax goes to Stein’s home to break the sad news.  They share a tearful embrace as they mourn the loss of Dr. Martin Stein. But with Snart’s Earth-X double paying a visit, they might fill in the ache.

Defeating the Nazis Once and for all

Amaya, Zari, and Curtis meet The Ray to find out how to stop the Nazis. But what they found out was something about Overgirl’s condition that can cause a supernova in less than a few hours. Everyone gathers on the bridge of the Waverider to discuss strategies. Then Dark Arrow calls the ship to ask for a truce. Overgirl’s condition is worsening and they will leave if the team of heroes agrees to hand Kara over to them. Oliver rejects the offer and another battle ensues.

Dark Arrow and his Nazis begin opening fire on the citizens of Central City. Our heroes make it just in time and an all-out brawl breaks out. Felicity, Iris, Cisco, and Wells have stayed behind on the Waverider to purse the Earth-X version of their ship. Unable to shoot it out of the sky, Killer Frost, Amaya and Zari board on the Nazi Waverider to shut off its defenses. The three women were able to knock out Nazis and disable their shields. This gives Wells a clear shot at the ship. Cisco vibes them out before the Nazi Waverider crashes.
Meanwhile, Supergirl and Barry battle their demons. On the ground, Barry and Thawne race around until Barry finally has the upper hand. He has the opportunity to kill Thawne, but instead, Barry lets him go. While in the sky, Kara and Overgirl are battling it out. With Overgirl no more time left, she was about to turn into a supernova until Kara flies her into space. Kara falls out of the sky and was caught by Nate. Distracted by his wife’s death, Oliver was able to kill Dark Arrow.

Two Weddings and a Funeral

The Ray decides to return to Earth-X while Snart wants to stay for a while. He promises the Ray he will return for him. But for now, he has to pay his respects. After the battle, our heroes gather at Stein’s funeral. Jax delivers a very heart-aching and teary eulogy for Stein. With everything said and done, The Legends are grieving for their loss but have to return to another timeline. Each of the heroes parts ways and welcomes Snart back into The Legends.
When everyone else left, Barry and Iris admit they don’t want another big ceremony. Instead, they’ll settle for a justice of the peace. Felicity tells them she knows someone who’s ordained. Excited, Barry speeds off and grabs Diggle (David Ramsey) to marry him and Iris. After sharing vows, Felicity asks Diggle to also marry her and Oliver. The crossover ended the way it started with a wedding. After how many seasons of both “The Flash” and “The Arrow,” their small joint wedding was a fan service.
