Season 3 of the award-winning crime drama Sherlock will commence in the UK on New Years Day 2014 on BBC1.
The news came today, creatively packaged, in the form of a hearse spotted on the streets of London during rush hour traffic (following a heavy tip off to fans from the BBC).

A floral arrangement spelled out the word “Sherlock” and the date “01/01/14.”
The series returns with a familiar format of three new episodes. “The Empty Hearse” penned by Mark Gatiss will see Sherlock’s return a full two years after his apparent death by coerced suicide on a London rooftop.
How did he survive? We’re about to find out.
