Sleeping Beauties: Stephen And Owen King Novel Becoming TV Series

Stephen King and Son Owen King’s upcoming novel “Sleeping Beauties” is being developed after Anonymous Content bought rights to the father-son project.The novel isn’t released yet but the rights have already been purchased for adaptation. Stephen and Owen King will be working with Anonymous Content to adapt “Sleeping Beauties” into a TV series.

Sleeping Beauties Plot

“Sleeping Beauties” is set in a woman’s prison in a small Appalachian town in the near future. It tells the story of a curse which affects most of the women in the prison. When the woman would go to sleep, a cocoon encases their bodies. Any attempt to wake the women or to disturb them the cocoon turns the women feral and violent.

If left alone, the women got to another place leaving the men to their own devices. But only one woman, Evie, is immune to the strange event leaving the men around her to consider her as the key to saving the others.

Writing A King Family Affair

Stephen King is known as the Master of Suspense and one of the most successful writers in the world.  He has published 54 novels, six non-fiction books, and more than 200 short stories in his career as a writer. But he is not the only writer in the family. “Sleeping Beauties” is a father-son project with his son Owen King, who published a few novels of his own.

King’s wife Tabitha and his other son Joe Hill have published novelists as well. King and Joe Hill have collaborated on a few short stories as well.

More King Adaptation in the Works

King is no stranger to adaptation, many of his novels and short stories have been adapted to movies, series, and even musicals. This year audiences would be treated to two more of King’s novels IT and The Dark Tower Series will be set to premiere August 2017.

Other Stephen King books and stories are in the works as well, Mr. Mercedes, The Mist and Castle Rock.

“Sleeping Beauties”  does not have an official release date or when it would be expected to shoot. But “Sleeping Beauties” novel is set to be released on September 26, 2017.
