Supergirl Melissa Benoist Ends Marriage With Blake Jenner

“Supergirl” lead star Melissa Benoist has filed for divorce stating “irreconcilable differences” after being married for only almost four years with actor Blake Jenner. The two met at the set of the hit TV show “Glee” back in 2012. They got engaged in 2013 and got married in 2015. Jenner was a recurring guest star in two episodes of “Supergirl.”

When Melissa and Blake first worked together during their dance rehearsal to “Born to Hand Jive” for an episode of Glee, she said that the chemistry between the characters they played — Marley and Ryder — was not acting. Melissa called Blake “amazing” and said they had “clicked” on that very day. Blake also gushed about his wife in one of his Instagram posts saying, “To my best friend and my partner in crime, I love you and wish you the very best birthdays of today. Thank you for being the best person I know.”

The couple strived to keep their marriage lives private but it took a toll. According to The Sun, their marriage started to become shaky when Blake started filming for “Supergirl” in Vancouver. The 28-year-old actress cited irreconcilable differences as the reason to end their marriage. Benoist also reportedly said she does not want either of them to receive spousal support. Citing its source, US Weekly reported the issue is the distance and things weren’t working. The decision was amicable and mutual. They do not have any children together.
