'The Flash' Season 4, Episode 5 'Girls Night Out' Recap: It's the Girls Saving the Day [SPOILERS]

Team Flash has three metahumans down. Luckily one of them is on their side and is not a villain. “The Flash” Season 4, Episode 5—titled “Girls Night Out”—has Barry and Iris celebrating their singledom before tying the knot. But the couple is in for an unusual night. Caitlin’s past intervenes Iris night. Caitlin receives an ominous threat from her old boss. Meanwhile, Ralph, the new metahuman, crashes Barry’s bachelor party. Felicity also stops by taking a break from protecting Star City to help Iris celebrate her bachelorette party.

Bachelorette Party Gone Wild

Iris and Barry are so close to tying a knot. Of course, before the wedding day is the archaic tradition of celebrating your last night of being single. Felicity even stops by Central City just for Iris. But their quiet fancy dinner is interrupted by Caitlin’s old co-worker. If you can recall, during the six months Barry was stuck in the Speed Force, Caitlin was working at a bar. However, it was more than a simple bartending job.  Her strange looking co-worker Novak threatened her and he came back for her.

“The Flash” continues next Tuesday with “Elongated Journey Into Night” at 8/9c on The CW.

At first, mistaken for a hired stripper, Norvok and Caitlin get into a fight in the middle of the restaurant. This awakens Killerfrost which shocks Iris, Felicity, and Cecille. Killerfrost and the others go to S.T.A.R Labs but all four women have different ideas on how to spend the night. Killerfrost intends on visiting her old boss, Amulet Black, while Iris tries to convince the others that Caitlin is still there.
Killer Frost/Caitlin goes after Amunet telling her once and for all she is quitting. Iris and the others follow to make sure their friend won’t turn into a killer again. On their way to find Killerfrost/Caitlin, they find Amulet taking hostage of another metahuman. The new metahuman named Weeper is a goldmine. His tears produce a highly addictive and lucrative drug.

It’s revealed that Caitlin sought out Amulet to help her control her powers. But here’s the thing when you make a deal with a villain: there’s always a catch. Caitlin was to become one of her evil cohorts. Afraid of becoming evil again, Caitlin kept all of this a secret from her friends. She hoped to return to Team Flash with a clean slate and redeem herself for her past actions. But with Amulet on her back, Caitlin can’t face becoming Killerfrost again.
Iris tries to convince her she is not a villain. She tells Caitlin they have to save the metahuman Amulet’s captured since The Flash cannot be bothered to answer his phone at the moment. Iris and Felicity take matters into their own hands hoping Caitlin will decide to help. Before Amulet circulates the addictive drug, the two try to infiltrate Amulet’s meeting with a drug syndicate only to be captured by the henchmen. Luckily, Killerfrost/Caitlin comes in to save the day.
Killer Frost and Amulet get into a cold battle. But ultimately, even with Amulet’s a metahuman ability that allows her to manipulate metal, she loses not only to Killerfrost but her metahuman drug mule as well. She flees the scene promising revenge. In the end, Caitlin learned how to manipulate her Killer Frost persona and redeem herself.

‘The Flash’ Bachelor Party  Gets Weird And Freaky

Whilst all of this action, the boys of Team Flash are taking a night out. Their new metahuman friend, Ralph, decides to crash Barry’s very tamed bachelor party. Ralph offered strippers from the “Golden Booty” rather than a showing of Cisco’s edited montage of Barry’s childhood. Entering the strip club they had to surrender their phones for the night to the bouncer. The night gets a little wild when Cisco gives Barry a special serum that will help “The Flash” get the same buzz as drinking alcohol. But Cisco underestimated the powers of his serum, it turned Barry into a drunken superhero babbling nonsense and knocking off tables.

The shock of the night was when Joe discovered Cecile’s daughter was a stripper for the “Golden Booty.” She explains to him it’s for her book about the women experience. The night gets worse from there. Ralph gets the boys in trouble. He was using his stretchy abilities to steal a few bucks and peanuts from other gawkers. The boys then had to spend a night in jail.
The episode ends with Caitlin revealing to everyone how she spent the last six months. It was a heartwarming end to such an eventful night. But before the credits rolled in, we see Weeper running from The Thinker. The Thinker’s goal is yet to be revealed in the upcoming episodes of “The Flash.”
“The Flash” continues next Tuesday with “When Harry Met Harry,” 8/9c on The CW.
