‘Titans’ Season 1, Episode 10 ‘Koriand’r’ Recap: The Arrival

After we get to know about one of the Titans‘ power couples, we jump back to the least expected event that happened. As memories resurface, a trio soon discovers the imminent threat to earth. Meanwhile, desperation drives one to forget the world and put love first.

In this week’s episode of Titans, Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), Donna Troy (Conor Leslie) and Koriand’r/Starfire rediscover Starfire’s ship. Moments later. they realize that Angela Azarath (Rachel Nichols) fooled them. Meanwhile, Rachel Roth/Raven’s (Teagan Croft) desperation to save Gar Logan/Beast Boy (Ryan Potter) makes her bring Trigon (Seamus Dever) to Earth.

Moments after Dick and Donna go after Kory, Gar starts to feel something strange about the house. As he went around, he finds a mirror that shows him a bloody reflection of himself. Even as he exited the house, Gar starts to hallucinate, seeing the man from the asylum: his first kill. Later, Rachel apologizes to him for her behavior which he accepts before getting some rest.

That night, Gar wakes up and starts coughing up blood. Rachel tries to use her powers to heal him, but to no avail. Eventually, Angela suggests asking her father, Trigon, for help. Rachel was reluctant at first, but knowing that Gar was dying in front of her made her reach out to Trigon. Finally, Trigon exits from the portal Rachel made. He heals Gar and hugs Rachel, but he is no savior.

Dick and Donna follow after Kory’s trail, which led them to a remote warehouse. Once there, Kory rediscovers her ship. Inside, the trio tries to figure out Kory’s mission together. With the help of the various objects that they found inside, they deduced that Kory’s must prevent Trigon’s arrival into Earth by killing Trigon’s only means of traveling to Earth: Rachel.

Also, a mysterious old book called ‘Death of Worlds’ revealed that Angela is part of the prophecy, ushering Trigon’s entry. Because of this, the trio rushes back to the house. However, they discover that a strange, magical force cloaks the house. Despite this, Dick runs straight into the house’s direction. While Kory and Donna could not enter, Dick stood on the doorway, eager to face Trigon.

‘Titans’ Season 1, Episode 10 ‘Koriand’r’ Final Verdict

While this episode did not reveal much about Kory other than her mission, it did bring us Trigon, although in human form. It will be interesting to see how the show handles magic and Trigon’s character. Also, while Dick got inside the house, Kory and Donna did not. It seems that the next episode could be a battle between Trigon and Dick.
