Is Abraham Going To Be In 'The Walking Dead' and 'Fear The Walking Dead' Crossover?

We’re just a week away until the Season 8 premiere of “The Walking Dead” and already things are starting to heat up for the world’s most popular zombie series. It was recently confirmed that the show will cross over its Pacific Coast counterpart, “Fear The Walking Dead.” In a report by Deadline, TWD showrunner Robert Kirkman says that a character from each of the separate zombie shows will make an appearance on each show.
“There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name,” Kirkman said. “This is a huge event in the world of The Walking Dead.” This crossover is expected to premiere sometime next year. While it’s unclear which among the many characters of both shows will make its way into their separate worlds, Michael Cudlitz—who played Abraham Ford in “The Walking Dead” from Season 4 until the first episode of Season 7 (where he was bludgeoned to death by Negan)—seems to tease his involvement.

The intersection between ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Fear The Walking Dead’

While “Fear The Walking Dead’s” timeline started off months before Rick woke up in Georgia in “The Walking Dead,” it’s no secret that the timelines of both shows will soon match. Back in 2015, Kirkman said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that both timelines will definitely progress. “I will say that I don’t consider this show to be a prequel to The Walking Dead, because there will be a point where a certain episode of this show will line up with season 2 of The Walking Dead, and a certain episode of this show will line up with season 3 of The Walking Dead,” Kirkman said. “So we will be progressing through time to the point that we do pass the initial days of the outbreak.”

That being said, it’s still hard to imagine how Madison Clark and her crew would somehow meet up with Rick and his gang (or even Negan and the Saviors). “Fear The Walking Dead” happens far off the Pacific Coast, where it’s very hard to look for any kind of transportation. However, if we take into consideration Abraham’s backstory, we might just be looking at the most probable character from “The Walking Dead” to cross paths with Madison.

Abraham in ‘Fear The Walking Dead’

Abraham was previously a U.S. Army Sargeant before the outbreak and Alexandria’s construction foreman when the apocalypse was happening. Given his army role before zombies came and terrorized the planet, it’s highly likely for us to assume that at some point, Abraham might have to cross paths with Madison and company. It’s definitely a thing worth considering, but Cudlitz apparently just fanned the flames even more. Check out his tweets below:

Cudlitz might be trolling us fans, or he might be speaking some cryptic truth. We’ll never know for sure until an official word comes out. In the meantime, we can all rest assured because “The Walking Dead” returns with Season 8 on Sunday, October 22 at 9/8c on AMC.
