Sorry Rockers, the 'Vans Warped Tour' is Coming to an End in 2019

I can almost hear the sentiments of all the devoted patrons of the “Vans Warped Tour.” It’s a sad day for a lot of them, including the bands that have performed in it over the past 22 years. Kevin Lyman, the music festival’s founder, just announced the famous yearly rock landmark will end its run after one last cross-country tour in 2018.
“Today, with many mixed feelings, I am here to announce that next year will be the final, full cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour. I sit here reflecting on the tour’s incredible history, what the final run means for our community, and look forward to what’s to come as we commemorate the tour’s historic 25th anniversary in 2019,” Lyman’s statement read.

The Vans Warped Tour kicked off in 1995 and has been traveling to many states every summer, and has become some sort of mecca for die-hard fans of many rock bands in its slate. Lyman went on to narrate on the tour’s history and said that the first year of the tour featured acts like Quicksand, Sublime, L7, No Use For A Name and No Doubt. A reason hasn’t been specified as to why the Vans Warped Tour is ending, but Lyman honored every memorable act he’s worked with on the tour over the years.
Lyman also touched on the prominent bands of each rock era—Sum 41, Simple Plan, MXPX, New Found Glory and Good Charlotte for the “Pop Punk” era, and Thrice, Thursday, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, The Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack and Jimmy Eat World for the Emo era.

Vans Warped Tour was also responsible for kicking off the careers of famous bands like Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Avenged Sevenfold, and the now-defunct My Chemical Romance.
The founder ended his statement by saying, “Though the tour and the world have changed since ’95, the same feeling of having the ‘best summer ever’ will live on through the bands, the production teams, and the fans that come through at every stop. The enduring spirit of the Vans Warped Tour remains as bright as ever, continuing to inspire creativity and ambition in new and exciting ways as we prepare for a 25th-anniversary celebration in 2019. I truly look forward to seeing as many of you as possible during this final cross country run and getting to thank you for your support on this wild adventure. Until then, take care and be safe.”
