'America's Got Talent' Season 13, Episode 4 'Auditions' Recap & Spoilers

On the latest episode of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, time ticks as we try to figure out which among the talent hopefuls will get the Golden Buzzer. Who will be the lucky one? On the fourth episode, titled “Auditions,” fantastic talent permeates throughout the show. We kick things off in America’s Got Talent with an Angelic melody that set the mood in a positive vibe.

Voices of Hope Children’s Choir

70 children conquer the stage with a powerful spirit of hope and love. Singing “This Is Me,” the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir’s performance became a hit and was adored by the crowd. The blending of their voices sounded beautiful, but Howie Mandel, one of America’s Got Talent’s judges, didn’t seem to like the performance. The audience started booing him for casting a “no” vote for the kids. Nonetheless, the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir still got three yeses and will be moving on to the next round.

Dance Duo Quin and Misha

The dance duo owned the stage with their flips, turns, and lifts that shook the audience. Quin is turning 71 years old but still has the grooves and moves. The pair danced, took sharp turns, and looked so sexy onstage as they moved to the song “Dancing In The Stars.” Quin and Misha also clarified from the start that they are not in a relationship, but instead had good chemistry in dancing. The judges loved the performances and gave them four “yes” votes.

Lioz

Lioz, a mentalist, showcased his “telekinetic powers” to the audience. Unfortunately, Judges Heidi and Simon didn’t like his performance. At first, they were intrigued by what he was going to do. To their surprise, it was just a comedy magic trick act. Lioz used props like tissue paper, bubbles, and a trash can as a finale. Mel and Howie vote “yes,” while Heidi clearly stated a “now.” Simon was left deciding whether its a yes or no but then despite hitting X he still voted “yes.” That means we’re going to see Lioz on the next round still.

Jeffrey Li

13-year-old Jeffery Li confidently stood onstage and sang “You Raised Me Up.” He joined the competition because he wanted to buy a dog if he wins. Because of this, the crowd adored him. Jeffrey has the voice that made the judges vote “yes.” Surprisingly, Simon also granted Jeffrey’s wish to have a dog.

UDI Dance

The next act consists of a group who already auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent. UDI Dance showcased their talent by doing an interpretative dance with a mix of special lights. The group also told a story using their tools and the perfection of their moves. The judges love it so much that Heidi called it magic. UDI Dance got all “yes” votes from the judges, allowing them a slot for the next round.

Daniel Immet

Daniel Immet’s performed an original Italian composition. Unfortunately, Simon didn’t like it that much and asked him to come back and sing another song. Though Daniel had a good voice, Simon didn’t feel the connection with the audience. After an hour of rehearsal, Daniel came back and sang a song (also in Italian) he barely knew. Since Daniel was blessed with an operatic voice, it impressed the judges, especially knowing that Daniel only had an hour to rehearse for the song.

Wes-P

A Japanese national, Wes-P tried to impress the judges through a Traditional Japanese tablecloth dance. This a trick where a tablecloth will be removed without anything dropping from the table. At first, he grabbed the tablecloth without the teacups falling. For Wes-P’s second trick, he stripped off his clothes and got totally naked. Only the tablecloth and cups were covering his private parts. Mel hit the X button after being disgusted by the performance, which Judges Heidi and Simon subsequently did too. Howie, however, liked it and vote for yes.

Tyce and Mary

Tyce and Mary are trapeze artists who conquered the stage despite Tyce’s eye condition. It would have greatly affected their performance, but the pair did it with flying colors (pun intended). It was a nerve-wracking seeing them hanging with a lot of tricks, flips and turns passionately. Though Mel voted “no,” they still moved on to the next round as Simon, Howie and Heidi voted “yes.”

Annaliese Nock: A daredevil Performer

In a daredevil act called “The Exploding Coffin,” Annaliese Nock tried to survive in a 3 x 6 foot box with six sticks of dynamites in it. Annaliese was miraculously able to survive the explosion. Seeing this kind of act, it kind of makes one think, is America’s Got Talent really worth dying for? Seriously, NO. But she got four “yes” votes so let’s pray for her during the next round.

Amanda Mena

A 15-year-old girl, Amanda Mena, sang “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman.” Amanda was a victim of bullying and found music as an escape from her loneliness. With that experience, Amanda found a great talent that made her the 4th Golden Buzzer recipient for this season. Amanda wowed the crowd with her “supernatural talent” according to Howie. All of them gave her good comments. In a statement of support for Amanda, Mel said, “this is what I’m gonna say to all those bullies,” and hit the Gold Buzzer.

America’s Got Talent continues next Tuesday, June 26th at 8/9c on NBC.
