Bill Hader Returns in Final Season Trailer for Barry
Published 3 weeks ago
Though the premise of a hitman pursuing community theater may grounds for a comedy, Barry has been a source of some serious acting from Bill Hader; and now he’s ready to end the series with the fourth season.
Just in, we have a trailer for Barry Season 4, and it teases a new clash between Barry (Hader) and his acting teacher Gene (Henry Winkler). Check this out:
Though HBO was said to have been confident with the show running for longer, Variety reports that Hader had decided that the fourth season would build to the natural end of the show. Hader says, “I feel like the story naturally ends after Season 4.”
HBO executive Amy Gravitt also had this to say about Barry ending:
“Every decision that he’s made about the story, or the jump between seasons, has made sense — so I had to go with his gut on that… Obviously, now that we’re here, we’re feeling sentimental about it. But it really does feel like it’s the right time to finish the show.”
It’s sad to see the show go, but hopefully they finish with a bang. After Silicon Valley and now Barry, I am excited to see what else showrunner Alec Berg has in store for the future.
The final season of Barry premieres on HBO Max on April 16.
