'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 5, Episode 19: 'Gray Star Mutual' Recap: 'To The Adult Life We Go' [SPOILERS]

Business as usual in New York. But as rough as it may sound, Charles Boyle’s (Joe Lo Truglio) business, a food truck, burns down due to unknown reasons. This incident prompts Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) to investigate on who the criminal is. In “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Season 5, Episode 19, titled “Gray Star Mutual,” an old friend, Adrian Pimento (Jason Mantzoukas), who now works as an investment analyst, says it’s arson.

Old Friends Come By

After spending some time in Alaska, Adrian comes back to New York with fresh eyes. He said that the wild is not for him. To Jake and Charles’ surprise, they see Adrian in an unusual scenario. Now that Charles’ food truck is seeking justice after burning down, their only ally is Adrian.

But because time passed by and they forgot each other, Adrian became an objective officer towards Jake and Charles. He even blamed the burning down of the truck to Charles. Adrian calls it arson and a call to making money out of it. There he goes blaming it all on Charles while investigating the case.

As they trace the actual perpetrator, they rekindled the friendship lost through time. After all, they realize that they’re still friends and nothing will change about it. However, it wasn’t arson after all. It’s a case of an unfavorable past between Charles and his worker Ted (Mario Perez). It was Ted who burned the food truck down as revenge towards Charles for firing him.

Business First

Jake and Amy Santiago’s (Melissa Fumero) wedding draws near. Preparations are on the way. As a good friend, Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) helps Amy look for the perfect dress. Keeping Up With The Times

Captain James Holt (Andre Braugher) is up for a new position. It includes a “popularity contest” where the most famous one “wins” the job. Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti) and Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) is all for helping Holt. Through social media, they increased Holt’s popularity over the other candidates.

But Holt, being an old soul, declines the offer. Instead, he sets up his own social media accounts. These accounts, later on, get banned on Twitter for getting tagged as a bot. Now that Holt’s profile is still on hold, he manages their dog, Cheddar’s, Instagram account. The page now has 14 thousand views in a matter of hours.
