Latest Teaser for The Idol will Leave You Hot and Bothered

We know that a third season of Euphoria is still in the works, but before that, series creator Sam Levinson has teamed up with Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye for a show called The Idol.

HBO Max just dropped a new teaser and it gives us more of Lily-Rose Depp and Tesfaye. Watch this:

A self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult(Tesfaye) enters a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol (Depp).

So far, the series looks to be some kind of meta-commentary on the Hollywood scene, and the lengths people would be willing to go to have fame and fortune. Besides the sexed-up energy that Depp and Tesfaye are bringing to the screen, we should also expect some more of the artsy camera work and atmospheric music that Euphoria is best known for.

Of course, there’s also the star-studded cast that’s been teased. Though we don’t expect them to appear in every episode, the show has managed to nab appearances from Hari Nef, Eli Roth, Dan Levy, and Hank Azaria.

We don’t know how long they are planning to make The Idol run, but I have a feeling that Levinson is going to have to make time between this and his more popular series, which was said to be one of the most-watched on HBO Max when the last season came out.

The Idol has no specific release date yet, but is expected to come to HBO Max sometime in 2023.
