Timothée Chalamet Plays a Young Drug Dealer in A24's 'Hot Summer Nights'

After the success of box-office hit “Call Me By Your Name,” Timothee Chalamet goes back to the big screen. But this time, he plays a straight role in “Hot Summer Nights,” a new feature film from Indie Production company A24 (who also happened to produce Greta Gerwig’s Oscar-nominated “Lady Bird”).”Hot Summer Nights” covers the glory days of the 80’s (and possibly the early 90’s as well). It talks about Chalamet’s character, Daniel Middleton, a teenage boy who soon gets caught up in the world of drugs. Check out the 80’s-style trailer below:

‘Hot Summer Nights’ with Timothée Chalamet

“Hot Summer Nights” follows the story of Daniel Middleton, a teenager in the 80’s who crosses paths with a drug dealer. Alex Roe plays the character of Hunter Strawberry, a rebellious teen. Together, they team up to become the best drug dealers in town.

Chalamet rose to fame for his “thin-man” role in the film adaptation of Andre Aciman’s novel “Call Me By Your Name.” The Oscar-nominee played Elio Perlman, a 17-year-old Italian living in North Italy. He falls in love with Oliver, played by Armie Hammer. He also played Saoirse Ronan’s love interest in the Oscar-nominated film “Lady Bird.”

Elija Bynum wrote and directed the film. “Hot Summer Nights” debuted in SXSW (South By Southwest) in March 2017. Its official theatrical release will be on July 27, 2018.
