BONES: Exclusive Scoop on

It's Modern Family meets The Office as Bones goes all 'mockumentary' with its June 2 instalment.

"The Murder in the Making" will see a documentary crew following Brennan, Booth and the gang on a “typical” case in order to produce a TV segment on the Jeffersonian’s Medico-Legal lab.

However when the investigation turns up a corpse buried in a landfill over a decade ago, dredging up both suspects and evidence proves a daunting challenge for all.

Meanwhile the presence of a camera crew in the lab brings out a series of confessions, boasts, unique personal viewpoints and snippy remarks as the team is treated to fifteen minutes of fame.

Well, it is a mockumentary. What did you expect?

We've seen the episode a little early, thanks to our friends at FOX, and have a number of teasers to share with you. We avoid revealing major plot points and other big spoilers that, let’s face it, would probably ruin your enjoyment of the show. As such we consider our article to be “teaserish” rather than “spoilerish” in nature. As always though, we urge you to exercise caution regardless, because it’s the internet, and who are these ScreenSpy people anyway?

Behind the Scenes

You’ll either love or hate the playful mockumentary style of this week’s episode, but there’s no denying it affords fans the opportunity to see our favorite characters under a subtly different lens.

Case in point, we’ll see the America in Profile camera crew following Booth as he finds himself in the distressing position of having to tell a father his son has died, and then inform him that he’s a suspect in the murder investigation.

It’s a tough moment for Booth, and fans will have the opportunity to see our hard as nails FBI agent before and after the interaction in a very human way.

It’s all about the little insights this week, guys.
