Check Out BTS Look at Savage She-Hulk from the Retro Dream Sequence

Though She-Hulk is mostly CG, the series finale did pay homage to the original Hulk series by having a muscled-up actor play a version of She-Hulk. As it turns out, it wasn’t anyone in a suit, but an actual bodybuilder–just like Lou Ferrigno!

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at actor Devon Lewis in his She-Hulk make-up (via @MCU_Direct):

While the series had been meta for a while, they really took Jennifer’s ability to break the fourth wall seriously, and had her coming to Marvel Studios to demand the script be changed for the finale of her show. They even had a joke character in the form of K.E.V.I.N. that was supposed to be a stand-in for Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige; the robot even wears Feige’s signature baseball cap.

Admittedly, there are some Marvel fans who aren’t that happy about She-Hulk, but it’s hilarious how the show had managed to predict a lot of the negative reactions to it, and has managed to poke fun at the very same haters on the show—even turning them into the final villains.

Though the season does conclude with a wholesome ending, it still leaves some questions for fans, like any other classic Marvel property. For one, fans are wondering just how Jen’s relationship with Matt Murdock works and if it will have some kind of reference in Daredevil: Born Again; there’s also the very passing reveal that Hulk has a son, who we don’t even get to see talk in the series. Some speculate this is building up to a Hulk movie, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
