Chip 'n Dale are No Longer Friends in New Clip from Rescue Rangers Movie

With the state of the pandemic, Disney has been very sparing when it comes their theatrical releases. Too bad for any Chip ‘n Dale fans though, because the Rescue Rangers sequel reboot is going straight to streaming. The movie is set to come out later this month, and we have a new clip that has Chip and Dale reunited with their old pal Montery Jack.

Watch this:

The clip pretty much solidifies the state of Chip and Dale’s friendship when the movie starts out. While Dale is off trying to keep himself a relevant celebrity, Chip is pretty much moved on from his Hollywood celebrity life.

I have to say, it would have been easy to just make a by-the-numbers adventure movie for a property like Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, but they decided to embrace the legacy of Roger Rabbit and add some meta-elements to the story for an added layer of fun. While we still expect the duo to go on a crime-solving adventure, now we also get to watch some fun takes on the Industry as well as the state of modern animation.

This should be a fun treat for anyone who loves the behind-the-scenes stories just as much as the movies themselves.

In “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” Chip and Dale are living amongst cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles, but their lives are quite different now. It has been decades since their successful television series was canceled, and Chip (voice of Mulaney) has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman. Dale (voice of Sandberg), meanwhile, has had CGI surgery and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to relive his glory days. When a former castmate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend’s life.

Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers starts streaming on Disney+ this May 20.
