CONFIRMED: Michael Keaton will Reprise Batman for Batgirl

We’ve known for a while that Michael Keaton will be returning as Batman in The Flash, but it’s possible we could be seeing him come back for a completely different property.

Talking to Insider, Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have confirmed that Keaton will be reprising his Batman role for Batgirl. When El Arbi asked, “Can we say anything?” Fallah replied with, “F*ck yes… The OG Batman is in the movie.”

For anyone following the news feeds, they would have come across Batgirl set photos of stuntmen dressed up as Keaton’s version of Batman. This is the first time though, that we have confirmation from the directors themselves that it will be Keaton who will appear in the film as the Dark Knight.

With J.K. Simmons reprising the role of Jim Gordon from Justice League in Batgirl, a lot of fans were sure that Ben Affleck would have been Leslie Grace’s Batman; but I guess with The Flash being rumoured to be altering the timeline so that Keaton would be the DCEU Batman, it would make sense that he would be making an appearance in the Batgirl film.

The Flash was originally supposed to release this November with Batgirl coming out months later. With Flash being moved to next year though, some are wondering if Batgirl will get a delay as well. El Arbi commented, “We don’t know when ‘Batgirl’ is coming out… No one told us nothing about tweaks, just to carry on.”

Batgirl has no specific release date, but it was rumoured to be coming out this December. The Flash comes to theaters on June 23, 2023.
