'Deadpool 2' Shows Off His Artistic Abilities In New Teaser

You’ve got to hand it to 20th Century Fox for genius marketing—or maybe Wade Wilson deserves the credit? The latest teaser for Ryan Reynold’s second outing as “Deadpool” has just dropped, and it doesn’t fail in making us laugh while trying to figure out just what the hell he wants to teach us.
The teaser synopsis even reads, “After surviving a near-fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover. ”

What the hell did the new ‘Deadpool’ teaser just show us?!

The influence of the 80’s is prevalent in this new artistic teaser as it shows off Deadpool’s creative prowess. It’s like an old 80’s motivational video that plays in the middle of the night, and Deadpool is shown painting all sorts of random stuff, from a cabin the woods, to a perfect view of a snowy mountain slope. There are lots of innuendoes as well, as he repeatedly “whacks off” his paintbrush on the canvas stand.
It’s a fun way of showing Deadpool’s fourth-wall breaking habit, as he doesn’t stray away from the script (I bet your ass this one’s another improv piece by Reynolds himself)—if there ever is one. He even goes further by telling the viewers that he’s high as f**k.

And just when we all thought that we’re just watching him make his art, the scene cuts to a montage of action shots from the film itself. We see Deadpool shooting up some goons, having sex, walking with his taxi driver friend, Negasonic Teenage Warhead flipping someone off, Wade Wilson (without gear) going on bull rage against a parked car and a glimpse of Domino with a new mutant character. But it returns to his art show promptly, where he has now finished a mural of Deadpool and Cable serving his friends some turkey. It’s an amusing teaser, to say the least. And it also feels weirdly satisfying, despite the lack of other scenes from the movie.
“Deadpool 2” hits theaters June 1, 2018.
