Obi-Wan Kenobi: Vader Looms Over NY Times Square in Cool Illusion Billboard

Last April The Book of Boba Fett was making headlines with a huge optical illusion billboard at NY’s Times Square, and with Obi-Wan Kenobi currently streaming on Disney+, they’ve change the illusion board to include Darth Vader.

Check him out:

Vader essentially just does what he does on the show—standing around and threatening people—but he does look pretty great, and I’m sure that this is going to catch a lot of people’s attention on the street.

For context, here’s the billboard when it was promoting The Book of Boba Fett:

Going back to Vader though, the series has been using him pretty sparingly, but to very great effect. Vader is absolutely terrifying in the show, but it’s possible that we could get some more in-depth looks at Vader behind the mask. I mean, why else would they cast Hayden Christensen if we’re not even going to see his face again? Is this going to be another ‘Mark Hamill is playing young Luke Skywalker but not really’ situation?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is only set to have six episodes, and with episode four coming out this week, fans are looking at two episodes left.

We already know exactly where Obi-Wan ends up in A New Hope, but so far it’s been an exciting ride, watching a middle-aged Ben Kenobi try and rescue a young Leia Organa. We don’t know where the series will end up next, but another clash with Vader and Obi-Wan is definitely something that everyone is expecting.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is now streaming on Disney+ with new episodes every Wednesday.
