Percy Jackson Set Photos Reveal First Look at Grover and Percy
Published 2 months ago
After 20th Century Fox stumbled with the Percy Jackson franchise, Disney+ is taking over and is re-adapting the story of the Son of Poseidon for the small screen.
The series is currently undergoing production, and though we don’t have any official promo photos yet, some pictures from the set have revealed the franchise’s Harry and Ron—Percy (Walker Scobell) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri). Check them out:
While Percy is supposed to just look like a normal boy, we can see that Simhadri is wearing some mo-cap socks and horns. Just in case you didn’t read the books, Grover is a satyr, and it seems like that visual will be brought to life with CG.
With Grover having to keep his mythical identity secret, I wonder why he’s walking around a city with shorts on.
Though we do get a good look at Grover and Percy, it does seem that the Hermione of the trio—Annabeth (Leah Jeffries)—is behind the both of them. It’s not really clear, but it would make sense for Annabeth to hang around, seeing as she does go with them on their self-contained Odyssey to find Zeus’ missing lightning bolt.
So far, everything is looking to go smooth with the Percy Jackson series. They do have the poorly received films to find out what not to do, and with the involvement of author Rick Riordan, there’s a chance this series could be more faithful to the source material.
No release date has been set for Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, but the series is expected to premiere sometime early 2024.
