Phenomenon: The Mandalorian Featurette Hypes Up Release of Third Season

He may have only played a small role in The Book of Boba Fett, but Din Djarin is set to come back to the spotlight in the third season of The Mandalorian which is set to come out on March. Just in, we have a new featurette looking back at the franchise, and how it managed to make its mark on pop-culture with Grogu a.k.a. Baby Yoda.

Check this out:

We don’t have a story synopsis for Mando 3 yet, but we should pick up where The Book of Boba Fett left off with the character. Now Din and Grogu are reunited, and it looks like they’re going to be dealing with the reclamation of Mandalore after the fall of the Empire.

Though Din tried to give the Darksaber to Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff), it looks like he’s now accepted the responsibility of wielding it, which means he could very much end up being the ruler of Mandalore based on tradition.

Then again, with that very same tradition saying that he’s no longer a Mandalorian because someone else has seen his face, I think that we’re going to be seeing some kind of commentary on traditions and how they really affect us in a larger scale.

Personally, The Mandalorian has always been kind of an ‘adventure-of-the-week’ kind of show, but I am eager for Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni to give us something more serialized. It’s just that, after Andor, fans are now clamoring for some more complicated Stare Wars stories moving forward; and Mando feels like a step back—unless they change something.

Catch The Mandalorian Season 3 when it premieres on Disney+ on March 1.
