Scrat is Back in New Trailer for Ice Age: Scrat Tales

The last Ice Age movie featuring the main trio of Sid, Manny, and Diego came back in 2016, but April will see the return of one Ice Age OG in the form of Scrat. Just in, Disney+ has dropped the trailer for Ice Age: Scrat Tales, and it features the ancient squirrel coping with fatherhood (and his love for nuts).

Check this out:

“Ice Age: Scrat Tales” is a series of six all-new animated shorts starring Scrat, the hapless saber-toothed squirrel of the “Ice Age” adventures, who experiences the ups and downs of fatherhood, as he and the adorable, mischievous Baby Scrat, alternately bond with each other and battle for ownership of the highly treasured Acorn.

The series stars Chris Wedge as Scrat with Kari Wahlgren playing the part of Baby Scrat. Though the Ice Age films are your usual kid-friendly comedy, the bits with Scrat are kind of special, in a sense that they’re kind of special silent shorts, where Scrat barely says anything, but his goal to keep an acorn is always apparent.

For now, the Ice Age franchise just seems to keep going, but the last movie The Adventures of Buck Wild, wasn’t really that well-reviewed. If anything, Disney has all the time to try and milk and Ice Age teat, but for now, Scrat Tales should buy them some time before they have to update us on the next big Ice Age film.

Ice Age: Scrat Tales comes out on April 13 on Disney+.
