Abbott Elementary 2 Drops New Teaser and Poster

One of the freshest feel-good sitcoms to come out last year was Abbott Elementary, and Hulu is gearing up for the release of its second season later in September.

Just in, we have a new poster and teaser for the series which features Abbott’s kooky faculty of well-meaning teachers. Check these out:

Here’s the logline:

Philly’s favorite educators are gearing up for another school year, which means more workplace laughs are on the way.

Admittedly the teaser doesn’t really give us any actual moments from the second season, but with the premiere set for late September, we could be getting a full trailer in the next few weeks.

While the show doesn’t have the same level of drama like acclaimed series Better Call Saul or Westworld, it does have that light-heartedness and optimism that a lot of modern comedies have lost to cynicism.

If anything, the series feels a lot like Parks and Recreation, with Quinta Brunson’s character Janine essentially a Leslie Knope-type, endlessly optimistic and hardworking, with a goal to make the school a better place for everyone. And though some of the other characters may not be as positive as Janine, they definitely care for the students as well and help add that fantastic chemistry to the workplace.

We don’t know what to expect for the second season yet, but we should continue to watch Janine and the cast grow together as they attempt to make Abbott a great place for kids to learn.

Abbott Elementary comes to Hulu on Sept. 21.
