Adam Sandler is a Washed Up Basketball Scout in Trailer for Hustle

HBO had just finished off their fantastic basketball series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, but Netflix is ready to showcase their own basketball property starring Adam Sandler.

Watch the new trailer for Hustle:

Here’s the official description:

After discovering a once-in-a-lifetime player with a rocky past abroad, a down on his luck basketball scout (Adam Sandler) takes it upon himself to bring the phenom to the States without his team’s approval. Against the odds, they have one final shot to prove they have what it takes to make it in the NBA.

We know that Sandler is best known for his work in comedy, but he has also managed to land some very dramatic roles in his career—and Hustle looks to be one of them.

Sandler’s hobbies have been very well known to the public, for quite some time, and we know he also has a thing for basketball. It’s going to be interesting watching him be the rough and gruff coach to a talented youth; kind of the straight, basketball version of his part in The Longest Yard.

While I was excited to have an update on Sandler’s next movie with the Safdie brothers, this film still looks quite interesting. After the Winning Time finale had the Lakers beating the Sixers, I’m interested to take a look into the world of another basketball team this time around.

Hustle premieres on Netflix on June 8.
