Bean and Friends Return in New Trailer for Disenchantment 4

Matt Groening has given us his take on family sitcoms with The Simpsons and the future with Futurama; and his latest show, Disenchantment, is his special twist on the fantasy genre. This February will see the return of princess Bean and her friends, and we have a trippy new trailer to build on the hype.

Watch this:

We don’t have a solid rundown of what to expect with the fourth season, but we do get to see that Bean is going to continue the struggle of keeping the throne of Dreamland. Of course, she still isn’t able to shake the problems that her mother Dagmar, brings to the table, and it looks like Bean will have to endure some trippy visual sequences in order to come to a new growth.

Admittedly, Disenchantment has not been able to gain the same level of pop-culture significance as Groening’s past work, but the latter seasons have been praised for taking the characters a bit more seriously. Even though Groening’s work is known for comedy, fans will remember that the best moments in Simpsons and Futurama are when the series actually gives characters something real to go through.

In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.

The fourth season of Disenchantment comes to Netflix on Feb. 9.
