Breaking Bad: Walt, Jesse, and More Return in Super Bowl Ad for PopCorners

Vince Gilligan may have closed the book on his ‘Methverse’ with Better Call Saul, but Walt and Jesse have managed to make a comeback thanks to the Super Bowl. Just in, we have a new commercial for PopCorners which brings back Walt, Jesse, and a third heavy hitter from Gilligans Breaking Bad universe.

Check this out:

The scene is essentially a recreation of the first time Walt and Jesse cooked together, but instead of meth, it’s PopCorners. They even have Jesse holding a blue bag for the color comparison—but Walt’s meth was admittedly clear ‘glass’ when they first cooked. It was only at the end of the season when we were introduced to the blue meth.

With Walt and Jesse being such iconic characters in pop-culture, I can imagine that PopCorners spent a fortune just getting Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul to reprise their roles. They even got Raymond Cruz to reprise Tuco.

With Better Call Saul ending on such a high note, a lot of fans were admittedly disappointed that we won’t be seeing the intricate web of crime that’s been woven in the fictional universe of Albuquerque. At least these commercials don’t do anything to break the canon.

Now fans are hoping that the next SuperBowl has some more appearances from Breaking Bad fan favorites like Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring), Jonathan Banks (Mike), and Bob Odenkirk (Saul Goodman). I wouldn’t even mind having Rhea Seehorn reprising Kim from Better Call Saul.

Watch out for Super Bowl LVII when it airs on Monday Feb. 13.
