'Deadpool 2' Secret Cameo: Who Could It Be? Theories and Possible Characters

“Deadpool 2” is set to premiere in May this year. But news of the recent filming of a super secret cameo for the movie has the internet ablaze. Last month, “Deadpool 2” underwent six days of reshoots in Vancouver. In addition to that is the two hours of work in Los Angeles for that mysterious cameo. Who could it be and what would it mean for Deadpool’s future?

“Deadpool 2”: Prodigal Returns or Insightful Newcomers?

Fox didn’t expect “Deadpool” to be one of their highest rated films of 2016. Despite this, the studio kept the character a bit isolated from the rest of the X-men saga. And they only made minimal references to the vast universe through the X-mansion. Now that Ryan Reynolds’ solo movie has secured its part in the puzzle, Fox is ready to pitch it the big guns.
X-men taking back goodbyes
Actors Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart have both expressed interest in briefly returning to X-men through “Deadpool 2.” The first movie poked fun at the wonky X-men timeline by highlighting the two Professor X’s. But in Deadpool’s short visit to the X-mansion, the head of the house wasn’t there to chastise him. It then led to a rather fun theory where Deadpool returns, and none other than Patrick’ Stewart’s Professor X opens the door. Now THAT would be a movie highlight.
The theory for Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine also takes its roots from the first movie. After all, Deadpool did staple a print out of Jackman’s face on his own before he revealed his real face to Vanessa. However, Jackman doesn’t even have to appear as Wolverine. Deadpool could just meet him as himself. Both Stewart and Jackman said that “Logan” was their final go-round but, it seems that “Deadpool 2” might change their minds.

A foundation for the MCU
The Disney-Fox merger is still in the works. If it pushes through, what better way to lay the groundwork for Deadpool joining the MCU than to put in an early (but subtle) visit from someone like Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury? Jackson’s appearance would be a play-safe move. There’s no hard pressure to connect the two universes where they belong ultimately. If they do decide that no such connection should exist, then Jackson’s cameo could just be a fun Easter egg, or it could also lay out a good foundation for some crossovers in the future.
The Birth of the X-Force
Part of the X-Force team joining Reynolds in “Deadpool 2″ are Zazie Beetz’s Domino and Josh Brolin’s Cable. The secret cameo could be an introduction of the fourth person in the much-awaited sequel/spinoff. X-Force will start filming in the latter half of this year. And “Deadpool 2” could be a reliable avenue for Fox to set up their next R-rated movie.
A theory for that point is the appearance of Channing Tatum. He has been signed to play Gambit for a few years now. But, Tatum’s solo movie has been facing quite a lot of circumstances leading to multiple production delays. A cameo in “Deadpool 2” and a part of the X-Force roster would give “Gambit” the momentum it needs.
“Deadpool 2” has just finished its final test screenings and the results are putting up the highest of expectations. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the highest test score that “Deadpool 2” received is a whopping 98 out of three screenings. The first movie’s highest test score was 91, and it went on to become the highest grossing “X-men” movie of all time.

THR also asked a member of the Dallas screening audience where the 98 test score was achieved what it was like watching the film. The audience member compared the experience to watching the Super Bowl and said that “it was electric.”
“Deadpool 2” hits theaters May 18th, with a plethora of surprises, new characters and a whole lot of whoop-ass fun.
